Open Question: I'm 14 years old and have hearing loss. Hearing aid help?15 July 2010, 11:16 amOk so I'm 14 years old and my father and grandfather and others on my dads side have hearing loss and they all have gone deaf. At school alot of the kids have realized I have hearing loss, but this year I got hearing aids. I grew my hair out longer than normal and nobody knew (I'm a boy by the way) but I like my hair alot better shorter. My dad and grandpa have both received cochlear impants and are very happy with them. But enough of that, my question is, should I wear my hearing aids with my hair short where everyone can see them this coming year in highschool starting as a freshman? I'm not so much embarrassed by them, but more of scared that kids are gonna stare and make fun. Should I wear them and then make an excuse like say "Oh, I lost my hearing at a party" or something? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -James
